COYOTE SPOTTED IN THE GREEN HILLS AREA- JUNE 7
EMAIL FROM A CONCERNED NEIGHBOR:
''I wanted to let you know we saw a coyote last night in our backyard at approximately 9:30pm. Estimated size is 60-70 lbs. We live in a townhome complex at Stokeswood Place. The coyote came down Richards Ave from Woodmont towards Stokes Lane. As we were sitting on the patio it walked up to about 30 yards from us in the common area beside our building. It spotted us and stood still, then I clapped and ran towards it and it took off back down Amanda and took a right into someones yard.
This is the first that we've seen near our house. While we don't have any pets there are several people in our assocation that have small dogs and walk them daily in this common area.''
COYOTES IN LYNN/ELAINE DRIVE ( Z00-ELYSIAN FIELDS) JUNE 5
''I 've seen coyotes on these streets very early in the morning when I'm running. This neighborhood is near the Zoo. I've also seen them at Croft School. This morning we were awakened by high pitched animal noises and our nine-year old brown tabby absolutely freaking out. He usually sleeps on the front porch. When he came in, unharmed, his tail was about 6 inches in diameter. He'll be inside from now on even if he complains''
